November Interviews: Virtual

December Interviews: In-Person

For first year residency positions, applications will be accepted through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). Please visit the ERAS website. All positions are filled through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). You must be registered on the NRMP Website. For more information on ERAS 2025, please visit their website www.aamc.org/eras or your Dean’s office.

Your application information will be evaluated by our Applicant Selection Committee and interviews are granted by invitation only. You will be notified by e-mail if you have been selected for an interview. An interview is required to complete the application process. There will be two interview days, one in November and one in December. For applicants that are invited to interview but can’t make either interview date, please contact the program coordinator, Deb Cipriano at deborah.cipriano@wtbyhosp.org.

In-Person Interviews:
There will be a brief overview of our program by Dr. Zdankiewicz followed by Case Management Conference and Surgical Grand Rounds.  Interviews will begin directly thereafter which will include a tour of the hospital and lunch. Our residents will be available to speak with you throughout the day.  If all goes according to plan, your interview day should conclude approximately between 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Virtual Interviews:

  • There will be a morning session and an afternoon session.
    • Morning Session – Approximate times: 9:00 am to 12:15 pm
    • Afternoon Session – Approximate times: 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm
  • The day will start with a group session Welcome and Program Overview with Dr. Peter Zdankiewicz, Program Director.
  • A detailed schedule outlining with whom you are meeting will be distributed a day or two prior.

In late January, after all interviews are complete, the Applicant Selection Committee will meet to review all interviewed applicant files. Composite scores, faculty and resident evaluations and notes will be reviewed along with the application itself. Following these meetings, our match list is set up and ready for submission to NRMP.
