Outpatient Services
Outpatient services are medical procedures or tests that can be performed without an overnight stay at the hospital. We offer a wide array of outpatient services at Waterbury HEALTH that span wellness and prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Behavioral health: A number of behavioral health programs are available for both adolescents and adults at Waterbury Hospital, including individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). To make an appointment, please call (203) 573-7097.

Cardiac diagnostic testing: We perform routine and complex diagnostic procedures to evaluate cardiovascular health in order to identify any issues that may require treatment. Diagnostic testing is available at both the Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury’s Cardiac Diagnostic Center and The Heart and Valve Center on the hospital’s main campus. Gastroenterology services: The gastroenterologists at Waterbury Hospital use state-of-the-art equipment to perform a colonoscopy or endoscopy on an outpatient basis. A colonoscopy is used to detect changes or abnormalities in the large intestine and rectum, while an endoscopy is used to visually examine the upper digestive system. Home care: Waterbury HEALTH provides professional healthcare services to patients in their homes through VNA Health at Home, a private home care agency that is our wholly owned affiliate. Neuro-diagnostic services: Waterbury Hospital can administer an electroencephalogram (EEG) to patients, which is a test that detects electrical activity in the brain using electrodes attached to the scalp. Nutrition services: At Waterbury Hospitaloutpatient nutrition services are provided by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Sleep studies: The regional sleep center at Waterbury Hospital is dedicated to diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. A sleep study, or polysomnography, records aspects of sleep including breathing patterns, snoring, heartbeat, oxygen levels, leg movements, brain waves, and total sleep quality.
