Dr. Victor Ylagan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for the specialty of neurology.
Dr. Ylagan received his medical degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. He completed his neurology residency training and a neurophysiology fellowship at the Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, NY.
Dr. Ylagan has been a practicing Neurologist in the Danbury area for over 30 years and is fellowship trained in electromyography. He has a particular interest in peripheral nerve disorders, and expertise in performing EMG / Nerve conduction studies.
“My approach when seeing a patient is to first establish a connection on a personal level, as establishing that foundation allows me to best treat their underlying illness”, said Dr. Ylagan. “I try to have as much eye to eye contact as possible and to be an active listener, because in the vast majority of cases, the patient is telling you their diagnosis, but in their own words.”
Dr. Ylagan has been married to his wife Lori for 35 years and they have four children. In his leisure time, Dr. Ylagan enjoys playing golf, traveling to national parks, and cooking. As a long standing member of the Waterbury Country Club, Dr. Ylagan has strong ties to the surrounding community.
